Farsi and English

Today, I had a lengthy conversation on Skype with my uncle and younger brother about poetry. Although I had pressed on realism but when I put my own pen on paper to doodle, I felt like poetry has its own ecosystem that do not match much with realism and each language has its own environments. Specially, Farsi has a strange strength in dragging one into a different arena that is more sweet and lively. When I put my English and Farsi together,  it becomes visible to me that each language personify different environments. English is a light and flexible language and is more fitted for describing things, events and analyzing them than expressing the inner-self that asks for a poetic language.

I don't know....

I don't know, if there is magic
But I know, there is magic-square

I don't know, if there are fairies
But I know, "the fairy" my Dear

I don't know, if love overthrows life
But I know, it overthrows the lover

I don't know, if there is life after death
But I know, "my spirit" is with me forever

I don't know, if there is truth
But I know, "the truth" I adhere

What is Missing

Today, I did an experiment in updating my Diary.

Dark Mirror

Your heart is deep and vast
When your eye balls run fast
And you don't blink
And you don't think

When your eyes are shut
Your words end by but
Then reality is a dark mirror
with twinkling fears it appear

Me and Stone

So, after 5 months, I dusted off my diary to write something in it and it is funny that I just dusted off to dedicate some broken lines to Goethe... Goethe says, "Enjoy when you can and endure when you must"... As I am not a hedonist so I do not buy the first part of Phrase, "Enjoy when you can"...but I definitely buy the second part of phrase, "Endure when you must" and for enduring one needs to be a like a stone... As I can't break the Goethe's quote so I will borrow it as whole to use his line in my lines,

Me to Stone;

Just wanted to be like a stone

What I get to be of flesh and bone?

Cold at heart and warm at face

Idle in rest, idle at race

Stone to Me;

Either a flower grows on you or rust

"enjoy when you can, endure when you must"

Don't you realize that you are a stone?

You rise from dust and you go in dust

Let's beat the drum!...!...!...!

Yeah, Let's beat the drum...In month of Ramadan, some people beat the drums going street to street to wake up the people in predawn time...I was always fascinated by their jobs; they wake up people from sleep in a time when they are in deep sleep... Socrates were thinking that most of us are in deep sleep like that of predawn time, so he was going from street to street in ancient Athens and cross-questioning people to show them that their lives are un-examined...When we do not analyse our beliefs and world views then it is like living in sleeping mode...The stronger the certainty in unexamined worldviews, the deeper is the sleep.......

As there is no Socrates to stop us on the streets to cross-question our worldviews, keeping diary is way to open yourself for your examination (it is famously known as self-accountability).....so here I have started beating the drums...let's see how much I am going to be committed to my diary :)
